Hello everyone, and welcome to the week! It’s time once again for our look back at the noteworthy updates of the last seven days. Summer, summer, summer. And it’s a hot one! Unless you are in the Southern Hemisphere, in which case: winter, winter, winter. And it’s a cold one! Either way, we have some cool and hot updates for you to check out as you get your week going. Of course, you can keep an eye out for updates yourself by participating in the TouchArcade forums. This weekly summary is just here to fill you in on the things you might have missed. Let’s go for it!

MARVEL Strike Force: Squad RPG, Free It’s a usual update for Marvel Strike Force, which means it’s seeding everything that will roll out over the next month. For now, there’s a Deadpool event that just got going, so feel free to check that out. There are also some updates to the Apocalypse Saga requirements, and a whole ton of bug fixes to help iron out the gameplay. Not too much more than that, but hey, I see Deadpool event, I put it in the updates. That’s just good SEO! As long as the movie does well, anyway. I’m sure it will. Who doesn’t love Hugh?

Tiny Tower: Tap Idle Evolution, Free The Summer Olympics are right around the corner, and by sheer chance Tiny Tower is doing an event about its own Summer Games. Collect the goobers to collect decorations and build your own stadium, unlocking nice treats along the way. We’ve seen this kind of collecting event before, and the last one was particularly brutal. We’ll have to see how this one shapes up, but at the very least you should walk away from it richer than you started. In-game, that is.

Disney Heroes: Battle Mode, Free This one is a touch older than seven days, but I’m going to use it anyway. There’s a new Hero in the game, and it’s Cruella De Vil from 101 Dalmatians! At first I was confused at Cruella being classified as a hero, but I guess there was that live action movie a little while back where she was the protagonist. So, you know, I’ll allow it. Not that anyone needed my permission of course. But if they did, they now have it. Enjoy!

Mortal Kombat, Free Mortal Kombat doesn’t update as often as it used to, but when it does there’s usually a fair bit to see. This time is no exception, with three new Kombatants joining the game. Onslaught Jax, MK1 Kenshi, and… Spawn! Yes, that Spawn! From Soulcalibur 2 on the Xbox! There are also some new Hellspawn Towers, new equipment, two new seasons, new Friendships and Brutalities, and more! Not all of this is available right at this moment, as this is one of those updates that seeds things in and then releases it over time. Still, it’s a light week and that means Spawn is good enough for a coveted UMMSotW award.

Sonic Racing, You can’t see me right now, and I’m going to use that to my advantage by suggesting that I both wear a monocle and that it has popped out at the notion that Sonic Racing has gotten a meaningful content update. And it’s actually pretty good! There are now time trials in the game, which…  should have probably been there from the get-go, but I’m glad they are there now. You can compete on weekly leaderboards and try to get the best time, which is a nice way to keep players coming back. There’s also a new character, Rockstar Rouge. Taking the Mario Kart World Tour approach, I see. I approve.

Disney SpellStruck, A new character has joined the roster of Disney characters in this game. Hades, the lord of the underworld and eternal thorn in the butt of Hercules, is here and ready to unleash his Scorching Surge to help you score big. You can earn him by playing a new limited-time event. There’s also a new Adventure Replay mode that allows you to replay any map with your choice of character and score some sweet badges. Rounding things out, there are some new albums with stickers to collect. Sure, why not? Stickers are fun.

BEAST: Bio Exo Arena Suit Team, BEAST (Binomial Experimental Algorithmic Statistical Tests) is kicking off its latest season, which I’m told by people on the ground is the seventh one. Nobu the shielded beetle joins the crew, and if you’re looking for a piece of powerful artillery you won’t go wrong with this one. A new overdrive, BEAST Blast, has been added, and the UI has gotten some changes. Throw in the bug fixes and performance improvements we love to see and that about wraps it up.

Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop, Another SEGA game? Excellent! Everyone loves SEGA. I’ll just take a big sip of my coffee and turn the calendar page over from 1994 to 1995. Anyway! Puyo Puyo Puzzle Pop has some new rulesets to enjoy: Foursight, Active, and Quartet. Check the game if you want to know what those are about. You also get a new Challenge Mode ruleset called Endless Mega Puyo Rush, which sounds exquisite. What else? Two new music tracks, arrangements of favorites from classic Puyo games. Also: bug fixes. That’s the programmer version of playing Puyo Puyo.

Merge Mansion, Free It’s the obligatory free-to-play matching puzzle game update, friends! That means we’re just about done. Merge Mansion dropped its July update, and it includes a new area in the form of the Dance Floor, new item levels for the Fabric, Sewing Supplies, and Sewing Kit chains, seeds for a number of special events that will be running through the month, and the ever-outstanding bug fixes and improvements. If you don’t have those, what do you have? Not much, I’d say. Not much at all.

Genshin Impact, Free Okay, Genshin Impact time. The Summertide Scales and Tales update is here, with a new character, new events, a new weapon and some outfits, new cards for Genius Invokation, a new story quest, and more. Uh oh, I summarized that a little too hard and now we don’t have enough text to preserve the formatting. Time for another classic Shaun fourth wall break to drag things out and keep the article looking more or less the way it should. I’ve gotten away with it for so long now I don’t know how to find my way back to the light. Done!

That about wraps it up for last week’s significant updates. I’m sure I’ve missed some, though, so please feel free to comment below and let everyone know if you think something should be mentioned. As usual, major updates will likely get their own news stories throughout this week, and I’ll be back next Monday to summarize and fill in the blanks. Have a great week!
