SwitchArcade Round-Up: ‘Samba de Amigo: Party Central’ News, Plus Today’s Releases and Sales

1 year ago 104

Hello gentle readers, and welcome to the SwitchArcade Round-Up for May 24th, 2023. In today’s article, we’re dealing with a bit of a slow one. There’s a bit of new information about SEGA’s upcoming Samba de Amigo: Party Central, so we go through that first. After that, there are two new releases to look at. We’ve got summaries for both of them in our usual manner. Finally, the sales. Some new ones, some expiring ones. There are a lot more new sales coming in, but they haven’t popped yet so we’ll get to them tomorrow. Let’s get to work!

‘Samba de Amigo: Party Central’ Dated, Digital Deluxe Detailed

Let me tell you something I’m not overly proud of, yet also at the same time not ashamed of. Back in the day, I bought Samba de Amigo and the Maracas Controller (they weren’t bundled) for my Dreamcast on day one, paying a total of $160 Canadian plus tax for the right to shake my booty in the middle of my living room while my roommate guffawed at the sight. So I am indeed looking forward to Samba de Amigo: Party Central‘s release. We now know the date it is coming: August 29th. We also know the details of its Digital Deluxe version, which will sell for $49.99 versus the standard version’s $39.99. It includes the Sonic Music DLC Pack, the SEGA Music DLC Pack, and some extra costumes inspired by various SEGA games. You know you want Open Your Heart and Bakamitai in your monkey maracas game.

New Releases

Dark Quest 3 ($18.99)

The third in the series of Hero Quest-inspired RPGs, Dark Quest 3 brings more of what you enjoyed in the second game with a few new tricks to spice things up. Create your party and venture into various areas filled with monsters, treasures, and traps to see if you have what it takes to survive. There are twelve different heroes to choose from, more than sixty monsters to battle, and thirteen different areas to explore. A cool little video game take on the tabletop RPG concept.

Torinto ($4.99)

A run-and-gun action game for up to two players via local multiplayer. It seems like a pretty ordinary example of its genre outside of the fact that it adopts a medieval style instead of, like, bare-chested commandos or something. Might be fun to blast through with a friend, especially at that reasonable price.

Sales

(North American eShop, US Prices)

Yes, there isn’t very much in the inbox. Redemption Reapers has a solid discount and might be worth considering for strategy RPG fans. Wintermoor Tactics Club is also worth thinking about. Otherwise, I leave it to you. As for the outbox, Kao the Kangaroo has never been as cheap as it is now, and the Voice of Cards games might be just the curiosities you’re hungering for. Check those lists!

That’s all for today, friends. Tomorrow is Thursday, and I’ll level with you – it looks terrifying. There are at least thirty-four new games hitting the eShop tomorrow, and I’m the one stupid enough to write summaries of all of them. We’ll have those and the new sales, and that will probably be it. I hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday, and as always, thanks for reading!
